| The Contact Lens Centers is happy to be able to provide this exciting new technology to our patients. Laser Vision Correction has become a very popular procedure for those who would like to decrease their dependency on glasses or contacts. All of our doctors are certified to provide pre and post-operative vision correction care. We have counseled hundreds of patients regarding laser vision correction.
The Contact Lens Centers doctors and staff work closely with many of the area's laser surgeons. Not all centers or surgeons are the same. We have taken the time to research individual doctors in different centers and will be able to counsel you as to which surgeon and/or center will best fit YOUR individual needs.
In addition, we search out the latest technology for laser systems and work with centers that continue to offer state-of-the-art technology. One example is the new space-age eye tracker technology provided by VISX Star S3 system. This system features ActiveTrak™, a special 3-D eye tracking system that utilizes active laser tracking to improve the precision of your treatment. Even when you think your eyes are still, they are constantly making fine movements. The ActiveTrak™ system tracks these movements to ensure accurate placement of the laser beam.
As a co-managing partner with the Lasik surgeon our doctors will perform all visits beginning with your initial consultation through to your final post-operative evaluation. You will generally only need to visit with the surgeon for a Pre- Surgery consultation the day before your surgery and then again on day of surgery.
So what is Laser Vision Correction anyway? Laser Vision Correction is a procedure using ultraviolet light to reshape the surface of the eye. This can reduce or even eliminate the dependency on glasses or contact lenses. Almost all patients who are nearsighted, farsighted or have astigmatism are potential candidates for this exciting new technology.
