At The Contact Lens Centers our thorough eye health examinations help identify potential health problems as well as visual disorders. The Contact Lens Centers' standard exam includes screening for blood pressure, diabetes, retinal defects (using video to digital imagery for annual comparisons), contrast sensitivity, corneal topography/mapping, color vision defects and muscle imbalances.
It is important to recognize that being able to see "20/20" does not necessarily mean that your eyes are healthy. Only a thorough annual examination can determine that your eyes are free from disease. Our doctors will be looking for signs of corneal disease, cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, and macular degeneration. The eye's internal pressure will also be measured to assess your risks for glaucoma. |
